How to Make a Yoda Puppet

Start by tracing the bottom of the paper bag onto the green paper. This is the easiest way to get the right size that you will need.

Cut the green rectangle out and glue it onto the bottom of the bag,  You made Yoda’s face! From the same green paper, draw 2 half moon shapes (these will be Yoda’s eyelids) and 2 horn like shapes for his ears. Cut them out, then glue the ears just behind the green rectangle face. Save the eyelids to the side.

Cut 2 strips of white paper, about 2 inches wide and glue them onto the front of the paper bag, this will create Yoda’s robe!

Cut some eyes and eyeballs from the black and white paper.  Glue them on and add the eyelids.  Use a marker to draw on his nose, mouth and any other details you want to add.

For Yoda’s light saber, simply cut out 3 elongated ovals- 2 small from the white and black paper and one longer from the green paper. The white and black are the handle, glue the green oval onto the back of them. Add a little gold or silver glitter and watch it “glow” !

My kids would love this — they’re fans of Origami Yoda books. People have suggested that I do content on my blog that kids are into (meaning Star Wars or Frozen) but I’m way of copyright infringement.

I was just scrolling through the DIY Like a Boss link party and your project caught my 7 year old son’s eye, who was standing next to me. He said “wait, scroll back up! I saw Yoda!” Haha! He loves to make paper bag puppets so I think he will be making this one next. Thanks for sharing!

Adorable! I also love it because you used stuff that anyone would have around the house to make a really cute project for children. Thank you so much for sharing it on the #HomeMattersParty and I hope you will come back again next week!
