Ever since Despicable Me first came out, we have been in love with Gru’s crazy Minions. I think my boys have seen every Minion clip on YouTube, and now that they have their own movie, my boys like them even more. We saw The Minion Movie last week and my youngest boys laughed the entire time. So, I knew they would love these Minion Pancakes.
These pancakes are not hard to make at all and have lots of yummy fruit. My boys will eat anything if I make it look fun. Just a little trick I have learned over the years. 😉
How to Make Minion Pancakes
Step 1: Mix up your favorite pancake batter and heat a griddle to medium heat. I always use medium or low heat when I am making fun pancakes so they don’t get too dark. They take a bit longer to cook but they will look better.
Step 2: Pour the design of the minion by making an oval with two arms coming out the sides. They don’t have to look perfect because you are covering the majority of it with fruit and you can trim off any excess batter.
Step 3: Once they are cooked on both side, start covering with fruit. I used blueberries for the overalls and raisins for the gloves and shoes.
Step 4: Use Redi-whip or other whipped cream to add an eye and chocolate chips for the goggles. I used mini-chocolate chips for the mouth.
And of course my boys had to have a little bit of fun with the whipped cream. I turned around for a second and next thing I knew we had a Sumo wrestling minion! I think I want one!
