Easter Bunny Pancake

Easter Bunny Pancake

Here comes Peter Cottontail!  It just wouldn’t be a holiday for us without some sort of fun pancakes.  We had Leprechaun pancakes for St Patrick’s Day, Groundhog pancakes for Groundhogs day, Cupid’s arrow for Valentine’s day, Santa pancakes for Christmas and even “Man”cakes for Father’s Day.  So, naturally we would have to have an Easter Bunny pancake for Easter.  Right?

As, with most of my pancake ideas, these are pretty self-explanatory from looking at the picture.  I’ve decided you can make almost any type of object with pancakes, bananas, marshmallows and chocolate chips.  Really, you should try it. [Read more...]

St Patricks Day Games

Quick and Easy St Patricks Day Games

As I mentioned in past posts, this week I’ve been entertaining a sick 4-year-old. We’ve made some fun food ideas like our Rainbow snack and Shamrock cookies, but I wanted to do something fun to entertain him so he wasn’t totally absorbed in the television or Ipad. I had him help me try out these two  St Patricks Day games.

We made up a  game that we named “Let’s Roll a Leprachaun”.  This was inspired by the game “Roll a Pumpkin” from Happy Home Fairy that my boys played over and over and over at Halloween time.

The picture is self explanatory but basically, you take turns rolling dice and based on what you roll you are able to add a feature to your leprechaun or for a twist if you roll an 11 you have to switch papers with another person. (My 4-year-old was absolutely NOT giving up his leprechaun so you can always leave it out or change #11.  My older boys thought it was fun.)   The first person to finish their leprechaun wins.

St Patricks Day Food: Rainbow Snack and Shamrock Quesadilla

If your boys are like mine, every day after school a couple of ravenous beasts return home wanting to eat everything in sight.  My boys tend to be really, REALLY grumpy when they are hungry so feeding them asap is a must.

I’ve been trying to have healthier and more filling snacks available to them so they aren’t just finishing off an entire box of gold fish crackers or cereal, so this week my 4-year-old helped me make this St Patricks Day food.  He’s been home sick from preschool so I’ve been trying to entertain him with some St Patrick’s day fun.
