Photo Block Pencil Holder

Photo Block Pencil holder Mod Podge washout

This week I received a box with Mod Podge Washout and Apple Barrel paint which I was so excited to use with my kids.   I love Mod Podge but I don’t normally let my kids use it because of the mess involved but Mod Podge Washout is pretty much the same great formula as Mod Podge gloss but it washes out of clothes with just soap and water, even after it has dried.  Bonus!  That makes it perfect for craft projects at home or school.

How to Make an Easy Lego Table

You know that Santa is a pretty smart fella!  He knew that if he brought my boys the BIG LEGO sets they were wanting then they would need a Lego table to build them on so baby brother couldn’t get them.

But, knowing that we don’t have the room for a permanent Lego table, he brought us one that not only folds flat, but folds in half as well.  That Santa is a smarty pants indeed.  After inspecting the table I thought I would try and let you know how he built it. ;)

5 Summer Activities with Pool Noodles

I love summertime!  And I love activities that get my kids outside and active.   These activities are perfect for little boys!  Not only can they use up some of their endless energy but you don’ t have to worry about them getting hurt because they are using pool noodles.  When I found pool noodles for sale at the dollar store I was so excited to create some fun games and activities for my kids.  I think the lady that helped me out must have thought I was crazy as she watched me shoving pool noodles into every square inch of my car.  But we fit and I made it home safe.

The School Project that Could Save Your Life

How to Make a Solar Oven

Okay, so hopefully it will never be needed to save our lives, but if we are ever without power for a long period of time, I now know that because of our new solar oven we will not go hungry, or without cookies. ;)

We finished our final school project of the year last week.  The project was to create something out of mostly recycled materials and after searching the internet, my 2nd grader chose to make a solar cooker out of cardboard boxes, aluminum foil and a large oven bag or “The Super Solar Oven” as he named it.

My husband and son spent a couple of nights working on this and then he had to present it to the class as if he were trying to sell it.

And he made an awesome Angry Birds slingshot to use to shoot the balls at the pigs.

Angry Birds slingshot. Perfect for Angry Birds birthday Party

We had all of the neighbors save their cardboard boxes for us to use. It was a bit windy so we couldn’t make it as big as we wanted since it kept blowing down.  But the boys had a lot of fun knocking down and building back up this Angry Birds game. [Read more...]
